Reset our Brains

I know every student at Ohio Northern University is ready for Spring Break. It has been a long, dreary, tiring seven weeks. I seriously do not think I have ever been more excited about a one-week break. I hope you are all planning to relax or go somewhere over break. If you are not going anywhere, maybe you are working and earning money. Let me know in the comments!

I am going to Zion National Park and I am so excited. My family and I will leave Monday evening and return to my hometown Thursday evening. It is a short trip, but it is absolutely worth it to see a gorgeous national park. Zion is located in southwest Utah and has red cliffs, pools of water, flowing rivers and wooded land throughout the park. In addition to visiting Zion National Park, my family will also visit Las Vegas. We will only spend a day in Vegas but I am so excited to experience the iconic location.

I love traveling. My boyfriend and frequently take weekend trips to places like Cleveland, Hocking Hills and Chicago. We spent a week in Texas over Christmas break and I am dying to go on another trip. However, my finances are tight. My hours were cut at Northern Lights and I am barely able to buy groceries for myself. This summer I will be working full time and I am hoping to go on a couple little trips since I will have extra money to spend. I will also be back at my parents' house so I will not have to buy my own groceries.

College life is definitely not for the weak. It can be really lonely, incredibly stressful and way too busy. I often find myself envying the kids who did not attend college and are able to just work a job, earn money and do whatever they want in the evenings. In college we are expected to attend all of our classes, participate in university events and be active members in multiple clubs. It is a lot to handle and I am beyond excited to finish my degree, have a job and my own house. I imagine many of you feel the same way. College is hard!

I wish you all the best during your Spring break and I hope you can reset your brains to finish out the semester strong!

  1. Hi Rachel! I totally agree with you on this, I think sometimes we need a break from all of the school work put over our heads. I think this is a great opportunity to get away for a week! I hope you have a great spring break!
