What's a Weekend Without Traveling
I am relatively sure I have not stayed in my hometown a single weekend this year. I never plan on going anywhere. However, I always end up driving at least two hours somewhere out of town. I will never decline a chance to see a new place or go on an adventure. This weekend was oddly uneventful and eventful. I spent my Saturday in bed. My boyfriend and I took an amazing, four-hour nap. Then I went out to eat at a delicious wings restaurant in Celina, Ohio. I had no plans on Sunday either but my boyfriend's friend texted him asking us to drive to Columbus with him. Around 2pm we made the two-and-a-half-hour hike to the east side of Columbus to trade a car. We traded my boyfriend's friend's Honda Accord for a Honda Civic. I know this is boring but the trip was absolutely worth it because we ate Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers for dinner. If you have not tried it you are missing out on the best chicken and Texas toast ever! We didn't get home until 10pm and we didn't fall asleep until 4am. I do not recommend taking four-hour naps on the weekend because it will mess up your sleep schedule. Anyways, my weekend was fairly uneventful.
I feel like I have barely updated you guys on Jupiter and the rest of my life. Life has been busy. I have had lots of exams, meetings, work and other events. The weather was amazing the last couple of weeks and I took Jupiter on many walks and runs. As the weather has warmed up my mood has improved as well. I took Jupiter to Starbucks, walked the green mile with her, lifted more consistently and finally bought groceries. I'd been living on rice and granola bars because I ran out of food. I do not have enough money to buy groceries because my hours were cut at Northern Lights. I am really living out the broke college student life. I did buy groceries this week and it really hurt my soul because I spent nearly $70 on groceries and other things I needed for the apartment. I bought chicken, cottage cheese, eggs, milk and other necessities to ensure I am eating more protein. It's crazy how much better my body feels when I eat more protein. I made teriyaki chicken and rice for meal prep this week. It has become my new favorite meal and I pinky promise it is better than the hibachi you get at restaurants.
I know this was a random blog post but that is a brief summary of my life right now. I hope you are all doing amazing and do not forget to take care of yourselves. We only have two more weeks until finals and I am so ready to be done! Summer is the best!
Hi Rachel, I absolutely agree with you on this one, traveling is one of my favorite things to do so if I have the opportunity to go see new things or even other places I am always down! Im glad you had a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteI love traveling as well. I'm so excited that we get the opportunity to travel to Germany in less than a month!! Your life update sounds like it was pretty eventful and I totally understand how busy you've been because I have as well.
